10, 2003 OBITUARIES ASHEVILLE CITIZEN-TIMES OCTOBER More OBITUARIES on B3, B4 BILLIE GAINES JONTZ ASHEVILLE Billie Louise Gaines Jontz, 73, of Asheville and formerly of Blytheville, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, at her home. Born Dec. 22, 1929, in Blytheville, she was the daughter of Robert Luther "Billy" and Frances Louise Newbill Gaines. She was a homemaker and artist.

She received her education in art at the Memphis Academy of Art, Fort Hays State University and Western Carolina University. She was a member of the Chapter Asheville and Biltmore United Methodist Church in Asheville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William Gaines Jontz, and a sister, Mary Frances Gaines Nunnelee. Mrs. Gaines leaves her husband, William Mearl Jontz of Asheville and two sons, Robert Mearl Jontz of Richmond, and David Tucker Jontz of Asheville.

The graveside services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, at Elmwood Cemetery with the Rev. Kelly Craft officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m.

WALKER HENDERSONVILLE Dorotha Louise Walker, 90, of Hendersonville, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at Pardee Hospital. A native of Polk County, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Rebecca Blackwell Walker and was also preceded in death by her brother, George F. Walker and sister, Edna W.

Brookshire. She was a retail clerk most of her life, charter member of Woodmen of the World, Camp 1391, and was a past Woman of the Year. She was a lifetime member of Barker Heights Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school secretary, was a member of the K.I.T. club, (Keep In Touch) secretary and treasurer. She was a charter member and treasurer of Barker Heights Community Club.

She was devoted to the Lord for many years, her family, her church and community. She is survived by her sister, Alice Trantham of Black Mountain; nephews, Kenneth Trantham Greenville, S.C., Phillip Trantham of Leicester and 'Alan Trantham of Swannanoa; nieces, Lynne T. Reems of Swannanoa and Gayle Trantham of Black Mountain; great-nieces, Carmelita Trantham of Hendersonville and Melissa Reems of Swannanoa; great-nephew, Matthew Reems of Swannanoa; and close friends, LeeAnn Pate and Sue Hensley, both of Hendersonville.
