Where to Find Abigail in Stardew Valley

Each villager in Stardew Valley lives their own life, with their own interests, hobbies, likes, and dislikes. They don’t just hang around their homes waiting for the eligible farmer to come knocking on their door looking for them after all. This is great in terms of how immersive it makes these characters, but it’s not as great when you’re burning hours traversing the expanse of Pelican Town looking for a certain someone.

Abigail can be a hard girl to track down, but she usually sleeps in late and ventures out somewhere else in the afternoon in Stardew Valley. Here is Abigail’s general schedule during each season in Stardew Valley:

Stardew Valley: Abigail Relationship Guide (1)

Spring: In Spring, Abigail can be found at the General Store where she lives until around 1:00 PM. Then, she will hang out at the bridge near the Joja Mart/Movie Theatre.

Summer: In Summer, Abigail still sleeps in late and then disappears off to the train tracks or the Mountain Lake.

Fall: In the Fall, Abigail rises late before heading to the Bus Stop. On Monday, however, she goes to the Beach instead.

Winter: During the Winter days in Stardew Valley, Abigail gets up late and then goes to hand out with Sebastian at the Carpenter’s Shop near the Mines.

While you can find Abigail in those locations during those seasons most of the time, she does venture elsewhere in the Valley on occasion. On Wednesday, she might be found at the Museum during the day and the Graveyard between 6 PM – 9 PM. On Fridays, she hangs out with her friends Sebastian and Sam at the Stardrop Saloon, and on Sundays, she can be found near the Wizard’s Tower in Cindersap Forest. She also attends festivals and Ginger Island, so if you can’t find her in her usual haunts, she may be somewhere like the Desert Festival or Ginger Island Resort.

Abigail Gift Guide

Gifts are a fine art in Stardew Valley. You can’t just walk up to any old villager, hand them something random from your bag, and expect them to like it. They might not like it. And even worse, they could hate it, which can result in you losing friendship points with them. If you’d like to avoid that, here’s everything Abigail loves, likes, doesn’t really care about, dislikes, and despises.

Stardew Valley: Abigail Relationship Guide (2)

Abigail’s Loved Gifts

Abigail loves all of the universal loves in Stardew Valley, such as Prismatic Shards, Rabbit’s Feet, Golden Pumpkins, Magic Rock Candy, and Pearls. But she also has unique loves of her own. These include Amethyst, the Monster Compendium, Pumpkins, and snacks like Banana Pudding, Blackberry Cobbler, Chocolate Cake, Spicy Eel, and Pufferfish – which is more of a fish and less of a snack.

Abigail’s Liked Gifts

If you don’t have any of the above gifts on hand, you can still give Abigail these items and get a decent result. She likes all of the universal likes, as well as Quartz, the Bone Flute, Ancient Sword, Combat Quarterly, and the Basilisk Paw Trinket.

Abigail’s Neutral Gifts

You can give the following gifts to Abigail without any negative effects, but she won’t be all that thrilled about them, either. Abigail generally likes all of the universal neutral gifts except for the Monster Compendium and the Combat Quarterly. Other than that, she has a neutral reaction to most mushrooms, like Chanterelles, Common Mushrooms, Magma Caps, Morels, and Purple Mushrooms. She also doesn’t mind Milk, Daffodils, Dandelions, Hazelnuts, Ginger, Snow Yams, Winter Roots, and Leeks.

Abigail’s Disliked Gifts

If you’re going to give Abigail anything, try to steer clear of most of the universally disliked gifts. There are some exceptions, however, like the Ancient Sword, Basilisk Paw, Bone Flute, Pufferfish, and Clay. Abigail also has more unique dislikes, such as Eggs, Fruit that doesn’t grow on trees, most vegetables, Wild Horseradish, and Sugar.

Abigail’s Hated Gifts

Giving a villager a gift they hate results in 40 lost friendship points. If you don’t want to lose any of your hard earned friendship points with Abigail, don’t give her any universally hated gifts, Clay, or Holly.

What Movies Does Abigail Like in Stardew Valley?

Stardew Valley: Abigail Relationship Guide (3)

If you’ve finished the Community Center and the Missing Bundle to unlock the Movie Theatre, you have a whole new opportunity to grow your friendship with people around Pelican Town. But just like with gifts, there are movies that people either love or hate, and taking someone to one they hate results in a loss of friendship points.
If you’re thinking of taking Abigail on a date to the movies, make sure you take her to see Mysterium, or It Howls in the Rain. Those are her favorite movies. Avoid taking her to Zuzu City Express and The Miracle at Coldstar Ranch.
If you want to earn even more friendship points from your date, buy her some Stardrop Sorbet or Rock Candy from the Concessions Stand.

Abigail’s Heart Events

Stardew Valley: Abigail Relationship Guide (4)

As you get to know Abigail better, you will start unlocking heart events. These are small cutscenes and glimpses into the character’s life that help you better understand them and their personalities. Some cutscenes simply play out, but others require you to answer a question of some sort. These can result in you gaining or losing friendship points with that villager. Here is a rundown of all of Abigail’s heart events, including all dialogue choices and their effects.

Abigail’s Two Heart Event

Once you reach two friendship hearts with Abigail and visit Pierre’s General Store when she’s home, you will trigger her two heart cutscene. This doesn’t occur on Saturdays, however.
Upon walking into the store, you will be taken to Abigail’s room, where she is struggling to play a video game called Journey of the Prairie King. Help her win the match to conclude the cutscene. There isn’t any dialogue option to choose from here, and she is still grateful for your help, even if you lose.

Abigail’s Four Heart Event

You can trigger Abigail’s four heart event by visiting the Mountain Lake on a rainy day in any season except Winter between 12 pm and 7 pm. Abigail will be there relaxing and playing her flute before she asks you why you’re outside in the rain. There are three dialogue choices for you to respond with before you play a tune together in the rain.

  • “Just doing some work” – No effect
  • ”I could ask you the same question” – +10 Friendship Points.
  • “ Enjoying the weather” – +50 Friendship Points.

Abigail’s Six Heart Event

Once you reach six hearts with Abigail, you can trigger the corresponding cutscene by visiting the town center on any day or season (as long as it’s not raining) between the hours of 9 pm and 12 am. Abigail frequently visits the Graveyard, especially on Wednesdays. On this day, she is there swinging her sword around and asks you if you’ve ever used one. There are four dialogue options you can choose to respond with.

  • “No” – No effect.
  • ”Yes, and it’s exciting!” – +10 Friendship Points.
  • “Yes, but only in self-defense.” – +10 Friendship Points.
  • ”Yes, but it’s dangerous. You should stay safe.” – -100 Friendship Points.

After you respond, Pierre calls Abigail back home to make dinner. Instead, she runs away, and you both hide in a bush to chat some more. Help Abigail untangle her hair from the bush before going home and ending the cutscene.

Abigail’s Eight Heart Event

Abigail’s eight heart event begins with a letter you will receive in the mail from her inviting you to visit her during the hours of 8 pm to 10 pm. There, she will pull you into her room to play with her Ouija Board. The spirits, or in this case, Abigail, start to reveal some of the feelings she has for you, causing her to panic and kick you out of her house.

Abigail’s Ten Heart Event

If you have given Abigail the Mermaid’s Pendant and officially started dating her, you will be able to trigger her ten heart cutscene by visiting the Mine or Quarry Mine between 5 pm and 12 am. Her sword training appears to have paid off, and she feels like she is ready to explore the Mines alone. Just as she goes to enter, however, a horde of bats flies out of the entrance, and she runs to the corner. There are five dialogue options you can choose to make her feel better.

  • “You’re crying like a little baby. Stop.” – -50 Friendship Points.
  • ”What happened?” – +20 Friendship Points.
  • ”You’re safe with me.” – +20 Friendship Points.
  • ”Are you okay?” – +40 Friendship Points.
  • ”I get scared too.” – +40 Friendship Points.

After comforting her, she will confess her feelings for you and ask if you can stay with her.

Abigail’s Fourteen Heart Event

While ten hearts is usually the max you can get with villagers in Stardew Valley, you are able to reach up to fourteen with your spouse after you get married. If you do choose to marry Abigail, you can unlock her fourteen heart event by entering the Backwoods between the hours of 6:10 am and 5 pm. The Backwoods is the small road leading north from your farm.

As you’re wandering the Backwoods, a monster leaps out of the bush and attacks you. Thankfully, Abigail rescues her by killing the monster. There are a few dialogue options for you to choose from, none of which have any effect on friendship. You can respond to Abigail’s valiant efforts in the following ways.

  • “It’s sad, but there was no other option.”
  • “Monsters don’t deserve our sympathy!”
  • ”It’s a harsh world, kid.”
  • “Did you have to kill him?”
